Five Mile Famous
Privacy Policy
Effective date: [TODO: effective date]
Five Mile Famous (operated by [TODO: legal entity name]; “we,” “us”) builds and runs fast websites and does local SEO for home-service and other local businesses. This policy explains what we collect through fivemilefamous.ai, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
Website scans
When you run a free scan, we collect the website address you enter and, if you add them, your business name, city and trade. Our scanner visits a few public pages of that website (such as the homepage, services, contact, service-area and reviews pages), its robots.txt and its sitemap. We also send the address to Google PageSpeed Insights to test its speed. We store the results and the date of the scan.
The scanner reads only public pages. It doesn’t log in, submit forms, or access anything behind a password.
“Convert my site” requests
- Your name and email address
- Optionally: your mobile number, your business name and website, the plan you’re interested in, and notes
- Whether you checked the optional box allowing us to text you
- The scan your request relates to
Technical and campaign information
- The date and time of your scan or request
- The page you came from and campaign details in the link you used (such as UTM parameters)
- Browser and device information (user agent)
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used for rate limiting, spam prevention and security
- The version of the consent wording shown when you submitted the form
2. How we use it
- Run your scan and show you the results and your private report
- Email you next steps about your request
- Text you about your request, only if you checked the optional box (reply STOP to opt out)
- Answer questions, improve our scanner and services, and prevent abuse
- Keep records of consent and meet legal obligations
We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
Service providers that help us run Five Mile Famous, such as website hosting, database storage, email delivery, customer relationship management, and Google (for PageSpeed tests) and AI providers (for the AI visibility check, which sends your business name, trade and city, never your contact details). They may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or in a merger or sale of the business.
4. How long we keep it
We keep scan results and requests as long as reasonably needed to provide our services and follow up, and delete or anonymize inactive records no later than 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless the law requires longer. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
5. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and restricted, password-protected admin access. No system is perfectly secure.
6. Cookies and analytics
The site doesn’t currently use advertising cookies. It may record basic, non-identifying events (such as when a scan starts). If we add analytics or advertising tools, we’ll update this policy first.
7. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to opt out of certain uses. Email [TODO: contact email]. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. We won’t treat you differently for exercising these rights.
8. Children
Five Mile Famous is for businesses and isn’t directed to children under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will post the current version here with its effective date.
